If you have enough room on your counter for two cartons of milk, you have enough room on your counter for a SimPure countertop reverse osmosis water filtering system. In this post, I’ll be doing my full review of the SimPure Y7 Countertop RO Dispenser. I received this unit a month ago and have been using it so far.
Installing the Y7 system (which comes completely installed) takes minutes, and your family and friends will no longer be exposed to the hidden risks of tap water and the need to purchase bottled water for your house. All you need to do is take it out of the box and do some basic setup tasks, such as removing the tape and other cosmetics.
After you clean out the removable water tank, you can fill it up and add it to where it goes (back of the unit and snaps into place). Cycle or flush the system at least 5 times to clear out any dust or debris in the filters, and then you are good to go.
How Does The SimPure Y7 UV Countertop RO Filter Water?
This system uses a 4 stage purification process
- Stage 1 – Sediment PP Membrane, remove sediments, dust, sand, particles, dirt, rust and etc.
- Stage 2 – Activated Carbon, remove the chlorine, chemicals, taste, odor, color and etc.
- Stage 3 – Reverse Osmosis (RO) filter that removes contaminants down to 0.0001 microns, so small that only water molecules can squeeze through but virtually nothing else. Remove 99.99% of the 1,000+ pollutants & harmful substances including viruses, bacteria, chemicals (PFOA/PFOS, Pharmaceuticals), heavy metals (Lead, Arsenicetc), TDS (fluoride, nitrates/nitrites) and etc.
- Stage 4 – UV sterilization, effectively destroying 99.99% of microorganisms, viruses, bacteria, and germs more thoroughly sterilization from your water.
A UV light is included with the RO water purifier, which aids in the disinfection of germs in the water by destroying any hazardous pathogens present. The high-powered UV radiation kills disease-causing germs by damaging their genetic core, preventing them from reproducing.
Using a UV water purifier, which uses UV rays to destroy microorganisms, is one of the most basic ways of water filtering. Radiation is used to drive the water through a tube. UV technology, on the other hand, is chemical-free and simple to maintain.
Features and Benefits of the SimPure Y7
Reverse Osmosis Defeats Contaminants
NSF criteria have been met. Removes 99.99 percent of 1,000+ pollutants & dangerous substances from tap water/well water, including viruses, bacteria, chemicals (PFOA/PFOS, Pharmaceuticals), heavy metals (Lead, Arsenic, etc), chlorine, TDS (fluoride, nitrates/nitrites), and other contaminants. Say goodbye to the hidden risks of tap water and the need to buy bottled water for your household.
UV Purification System
No chemicals are used, and no by-products are produced, efficiently eliminating 99.99 percent of microbes, bacteria, and germs from your water. Water purification may be taken to a new level with the SimPure UV purification system paired with the 3-Stages RO Filtration System.
High Efficiency in Water Purifying
The lowest drainage ratio of RO system products on the market is 5:1. This means the waste-to-pure-water ratio in residential RO systems ranges from 3 to 5 to 1 (average 4:1), with the exact ratio depending on a variety of parameters such as water quality, pH, pressure, and temperature. In actuality, due to a flow restrictor that is scaled according to the membrane output, this ratio is established and predefined. Recycling Multi Filtration Technology can save you up to 1500% on your water use. The quicker Dispense flow rate will provide you with a cup of cleaned water in roughly 15 seconds (418 GPD).
No Installation Required
You’ll get filtered water within minutes after you plug it in. It comes with a complete set of quick-change twist-and-seal filters so you don’t get the headaches that come with difficult installation and filter changes. Compared to traditional Under-Sink Filtration, SimPure Y7 is free of water source and space limits, allowing you to put and move SimPure water purifier anyplace with electricity, making it ideal for the kitchen, bedroom, workplace, lobby, outdoor RV, and more…
Other Features Include:
- The flush mechanism extends the life of the filters and removes contaminants.
- Simple touch operation makes it easier to use than ever before.
- A small, medium, or big glass of water will be dispensed at the push of a button.
- When the system is filtering water, indicator lights illuminate, alerting you when the feedwater tank water needs to be replaced, filters have expired, or maintenance is necessary.
- Recently launched and equipped with cutting-edge technology to give the cleanest water.
Pros And Cons of The SimPure Y7 Reverse Osmosis System
Water filtration is critical for people all over the world, especially in rural regions where wells are the only source of water. Though there are many other types of filtration systems on the market, employing UV radiation to filter out hazardous germs is one of the most efficient.
Advantages
SimPure Y7 is easy installation, it did not require to do any plumbing or expensive work. It’s nicely designed & sits well on the counter. There are a lot of different configurations for reverse osmosis machines today.
I was limited by the design of my kitchen of the cabinets in that I could not put anything under the kitchen sink and the countertop was marble so I did not want to drill another hole in it.
This unit has a UV light that sterilizes the temporary reserve of pure water stored for immediate dispensing. The high-pressure pump processes the city water in a closed-loop container so that only a small amount of water gets thrown away. Unlike under-sink systems, it doesn’t waste a lot of water. This makes sense both economically and environmentally.
Disadvantages
It is required electricity to operate. If your home’s electricity goes out, you’ll be stranded without filtered water. Feed Water Type: Municipal potable/tap water or well water meeting government drinking water standards (TDS<500 ppm). If the water source that does not meet the above standards or has not been pretreated is used, it is easy to cause the filter to be blocked.
My Experience
According to my experience, it’s simple to set up, and the water tastes fantastic! The water had an odd flavor at first but was mostly due to not flushing the system the recommended 5-10 times, but after flushing it several times, it now tastes like bought filtered water. A less expensive and more environmentally friendly method to get good water at home. It’s been working well so far, I tested a lot of RO systems before settling on the Y7, which is fantastic! Would absolutely recommend this to anyone!
I tested the PH levels and water quality, and everything was as expected. After filtration, purified water depends on your tap water’s PH. If the PH of your tap water is less than or equal to 7, then the filtered purified water is weakly acidic; if the PH of the tap water is greater than 7, then the filtered purified water may be weakly acidic or weakly alkaline. (It depends on the alkaline ion content of your tap water) I’m delighted I bought it and have been using it for several months now.
What Others Are Saying
There have been many reviews on this product and here are a few of them.
“I’m pretty picky about my water and this tastes great. The water quality where I live is terrible too, and I’ve never had anything that managed to make it taste any better. (Except for a very fancy distiller, but they don’t remove several pollutants that reverse osmosis does.) I’m renting, so I didn’t want an under-the-sink filtration system, and this was the cheapest(!) countertop one I found. I’m really happy with it though -it’s so nice to have water that doesn’t taste like plastic- and they’ll extend your warranty for an additional year, so if I don’t have to replace the filters too often (Simpure recommends 6-12 months, but see above regarding the quality of my municipal water supply) I’ll consider it money well spent. I’m even thinking about buying more Simpure products, and I am about the most brand disloyal person you can imagine” – says Hope Steen.
“The seller SimPure Water is incredible! I don’t write reviews…but for this seller, I will 100 percent endorse them! I had to contact them after my purchase and they helped me way after normal business hours! I was extremely grateful and totally impressed with their service. By the way… the machine works great! I bought it because I didn’t want to tie it into my waterlines, then have it leak for a week before I noticed it. This machine solved all my problems. No more dragging heavy water bottles in. No more plastic bottles in the landfill. Buying this machine will pay for itself in 10 months because of not having to buy water at the store anymore. “ – says Carolyn Tingle
“I like that this filter can fit just about anywhere, no need for multiple lines and cables, easy to use and assemble. Filters your water using a combination of 2 filters (2 technologies), plus UV filtration. Overall very happy” – says Maria K.
“I was looking for a RO system for my travel trailer without having to connect to the plumbing. I am super impressed with the function of this unit. Water taste 100% the same as my under the cabinet installed RO system. Would highly recommend it. Easy set up and use” – says Marna.
Conclusion
While going through all these customer reviews and based on my own experience, I would like to conclude that SimPure Y7 UV Countertop RO Water Filter is one of the better countertop RO systems you can find.
All these features and benefits are an added extra point to this wonderful product! Hope you found this article helpful in buying this RO water filter!
